PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate on-site wiring work by executing work such as fusion splice in a factory. SOLUTION: This optical communication trunk cable comprises an optical communication trunk cable body 5 including plural coated optical fibers or coated optical fiber ribbons coated with a sheath 8, used in a suspension state in a building; an FO cable 12 installed with a connector in a tip part, fusion- spliced to a set coated optical fiber or coated optical fiber ribbon after removing the sheath 8 of the optical communication trunk cable body 5; and a branch device. The branch device comprises a holder 13 allowing penetration of the FO cable 12 from one side, provided around peripheral parts of the sheaths 8 in both end parts of the portion of the optical communication trunk cable body 5 from which the sheath 8 is removed; a coil spring 18 supported by the holder 13 in both end parts; and a shrinkable tube 20 covering the periphery of the holder 13.
