The optical system simulator 9 has: an illumination optical system simulation means 12 providing intensity and direction data of light rays passing a light incidence window of the refractive index distribution space; a passing light ray simulation means 13 simulating the light rays passing from the light incidence window to a light emission window with the intensity and direction data of the light rays as initial conditions; and a recording optical system simulation means 14 simulating the light rays from the light emission window to a virtual recording device with light ray data in the light emission window as an initial condition.
