Steering wheel`s angular position measuring method for vehicle, involves calculating absolute wheel angular position from angular and counter values of one sensor, and from angular values of sensors and counter values in respective modes
The method involves calculating an angular position of a sprocket (5) of a main gear, and incrementing/decrementing a storage counter for number of revolutions of a steering wheel by using an angle sensor (15). Angular position of a sprocket (8) of a secondary gear is measured by an angle sensor (16). An absolute angular position of the steering wheel is calculated from angular and counter values obtained by the sensor (15) in an active mode of the vehicle, and from the angular values obtained via the sensors and the counter values in an awakening mode of the vehicle. An independent claim is also included for a device for measuring an angular position of a steering wheel of a vehicle.
