Optical signal`s e.g. optical pulse, dynamic range sectioning device for optical signal measurement system, has unit dividing pulse into signals, shifting unit to time shift signals, and multiplexing unit to multiplex shifted signals
The device has a division unit (10) permitting to divide an optical pulse (6) into optical signals (S0 - SN) having an attenuation with respect to the pulse. The unit (10) has optical fiber couplers (C1 - CN) each having an input path and two output paths, where the couplers are made of monomode optic fibers. The signals (S0, S1) are provided by the respective output paths of the coupler (C1). A time shifting unit (12) permits to time shift the signals (S1 - SN) with respect to the signal (S0). A multiplexing unit (14) permits to multiplex the temporally shifted signals.
