Air temperature of sleeper compartment (16), air flow temperature out of evaporator (30), refrigerant discharge pressure of compressor (20), and sub-cooling of refrigerant are monitored. The speed of compressor is adjusted based on monitored air temperature, air flow temperature and refrigerant discharge pressure. The speed of a blower (24) is adjusted based on the monitored sub-cooling of refrigerant. An independent claim is also included for an air conditioning system for use in cooling sleeper compartment of truck.
