The installation has a controllable irrigation unit i.e. sprayer (35), adapted for spraying atmosphere cooling liquid above a mineral platform (31). A controlling unit controls operation of the irrigation unit based on information contained in a memory controlled by a CPU. A cultivating unit (41a) is supplied with power by another controllable irrigation unit. The cultivating unit is equipped with a nozzle head (49a) positioned at a top part of a mast (44) for delivering mixture of water and nutrients by seepage of a cultivating substrate. An independent claim is also included for a method for cultivating orchid vines.
