Ambient noise conditioning device for e.g. electric vehicle, has vibration unit amplifying and transmitting harmonics selected from vibrations of engine to downstream arm of transmission path for transmitting harmonics to cab interior
The device has a mechanical vibration transmission path (6) including an upstream arm (8) adjacent to a spark ignition engine (2) and a downstream arm (10) adjacent to a cab interior (4) of a motor vehicle. The engine transmits mechanical vibrations with different frequencies to the arm (8) which transmits the vibrations to a vibration unit (12). The unit selects harmonics, from the vibrations, corresponding to natural frequencies of vibration elements (14) of the unit. The unit amplifies and transmits the harmonics to the arm (10) for transmitting the harmonics to the cab interior. An independent claim is also included for a method of conditioning ambient noise in a cab interior of a vehicle.
