Reflex hammer for measuring reaction time of person after striking e.g. knee, has counterweight stopper stressed by spring in return position and cutting optical beam at moment of impact for delivering pulse indicating impact instant
The hammer has a detection unit detecting an impact instant of the hammer and including a detection cell (5) that has transmission and reception units (6, 7) of an optical beam. A counterweight stopper (8) is placed between the transmission and reception units to be stressed by a spring (10) in a return position and cutting the optical beam at the moment of the impact for delivering a pulse (13) indicating the impact instant. A central portion of the stopper is mounted pivotally around an axle and has one portion forming a counterweight and another portion forming a stopper.
