The method involves providing a standby power supply (AC) to a multimedia stream receiving terminal (STB) of a multimedia stream decoder/descrambler set e.g. pay-TV. The terminal is supplied from a standby power supply (AS), in case of failure of the mains power supply. Data of trace of power supply incident in the terminal is stored in a secured access memory (MEM) of a security processor (PS) of the decoder/descrambler set. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a multimedia stream decoder/descrambler set e.g. pay television, comprising a multimedia stream receiving terminal and a security processor for implementing a mains power supply incident managing method (2) a computer program product, stored in a memory of a terminal of a multimedia stream decoder/descrambler set e.g. pay television, comprising instructions to implement a mains power supply incident managing method.
