Compact, lightweight central position guiding plant, e.g. for orbiting missile or spacecraft, includes core structure with accelerometer(s), gyroscope(s), mirrors and Cassegrain telescope as star viewer
In a central position guiding plant for a moving machine, having a core structure (2) with accelerometer(s) (A3) and gyroscope(s) (G1) and a star viewer, the core structure consists of a single rigid element traversed by a bore (9). A primary mirror (22) and an electro-optical detector (26) for the viewer are fixed at one end (19) of the bore; and a secondary mirror (18) is fixed at the other end (13). The star viewer is in the form of a Cassegrain telescope. In a central position guiding plant for a moving machine, having a core structure (2) with accelerometer(s) (A3) and gyroscope(s) (G1) (optionally supported on cardan structures) and a star viewer, the core structure consists of a single rigid element traversed by a bore (9). A primary mirror (22) and an electro-optical detector (26) for the star viewer (behind an opening (23)) are fixed at one end (19) of the bore; and a secondary mirror (18) is fixed at the other end (13). The star viewer is in the form of a Cassegrain telescope. Fixing plates (16) are provided on the core structure for the accelerometers, gyroscopes etc. and an electronic actuator for the detector.
