The method involves switching power transistors between two adjacent base vectors and a null vector of a sector using vector modulation in the manner of symmetrical PWM with a high carrier frequency. In the odd number sectors the base vectors are applied in a first direction and in the even number sectors in the opposite direction, so that the null vector is produced just by switching on the transistors at minus potential. An Independent claim is also included for an arrangement for implementing the method.
