A diagnostic test system for detecting antibodies against human immunodeficiency virus (HIV1 and HIV2) in human samples, comprises HIV1 and HIV2 IgG-antigen(s) as probe and detector molecules bound to carrier particles which show the same or different particle size (S) and/or are labelled with fluorescent dyes of different emission spectra (ES) and/or intensities (I), giving several particle populations, each of which is characterised by its specific coding, i.e. the combination of S, ES and I, and every population is also marked with another type of probe or detector molecule or label.
