The shape classification for a cleansed colon determined by three dimensional filtering of prone and supine data sets, is mapped into prone and supine virtual dissection images and the prone and supine data sets are registered using one-dimensional registration. The shapes are localized for the prone and supine virtual dissection based on the shape classification and registration. A distance metric is applied to the localized shapes to identify stool particles. An independent claim is included for the method for suppressing stool particles.
