The device has a gas bag with an exhaust opening, whose cross section is modifiable by a moving unit. The moving unit is coupled to a die cushion (22), which is not fastened to the gas bag. The moving unit has two ends, where one end is connected with the die cushion and the other end is connected with a fixed component. The moving unit is firmly connected with the gas bag in a border area of the opening.
