The method involves compressing a container (1) through a pair of compression units (4), where the compression units are displaced in rotation by an electric motor (6). An operating parameter of the electric motor is detected for determining container tightness. The electric motor moves with a synchronization unit. The operating parameter is processed by a data processing device, which collects the obtained and transformed signals. The container is made of a flexible material e.g. plastic.
