The device has deuterium lenses (5, 6) provided in a neutron microscope, where the lenses consist of fixed deuterium in cooled pressurized vessels (3, 4). The deuterium lenses are produced in a form by an envelope, where the deuterium lenses are driven with an elevated pressure. A biological or non-biological specimen (7) e.g. biomolecule, is isotope-exchanged. The deuterium lenses (5) focus a beam (2) of a neutron source (1) e.g. secondary radiation source, on the biological or non-biological specimen. An independent claim is also included for a method for structural resolution of a biological or non-biological specimen.
