Memory device`s error correction method, involves selecting and checking data blocks for errors in order to detect defective data blocks, and determining bits of defective data blocks and redundant information during existence of error
The method involves splitting information written into a memory device (1) into data blocks (5) of respective bits. The data blocks are written into a memory module (3) of the memory device. Redundant information (6) is determined on the basis of the data blocks, and is written in another memory module (4). The data blocks are selected and checked for errors in order to detect defective data blocks. The bits of the defective data blocks and the redundant information from the latter memory module (4) are determined during existence of an error and are read in case of an error in advance. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a memory control for controlling memory modules (2) a memory device comprising a memory control.
