The station has a housing (20) comprising a connecting rod (22) for inserting a pig (12) into a pipe (18). A drive cylinder (24) provides a movement for the connecting rod. A longitudinal axis (40) of the pig runs parallel to a longitudinal axis (42) of the pipe and a longitudinal axis (44) of the housing in the inserted condition of the pig. A cage is arranged within the housing, where the cage can accommodate pig.
