The machine has a stator (20) that is impinged by an electromagnetic rotating field and has a yoke with stator teeth. A rotor (10) comprises permanent magnets, and is separated from the stator by an air gap. The rotor is fixed to a pulley and the stator teeth are combined to modules. The stator teeth have an opposite polarity of the magnetic field at an optional ratio of pole pitch of the rotor to tooth pitch of the stator by 9/8.
