The device has two centrals, of which one central acts a master and the other central acts as a slave. The former central is arranged remote from the latter central. The latter central operates as a master, when the former central is failed. The centrals control two parts of passenger information units that are arranged in upper and lower levels of a coach, respectively. Supply lines for the information units run from the centrals to the respective levels of the coach.
