The structure has a part with a closed cross section, which is fixed to a side frame unit (14) within a given area between a front support point (28) and a rear part of the frame unit. The rear part points rearwards from a vehicle seat. A part with an opened cross section is defined by forming a section in a lower part of a front local region of the former part between front and rear support points. The front local region points forward from the vehicle seat. The latter part is deformed at a cutout (32) by a large load, which is deformable and transformed from a backrest frame (BF).
