Agitator for energizing a liquid manure circulation in a liquid manure storage vessel of biogas plant, comprises a shaft (5) propelled by a drive device (8) and pivotably mounted with mounting devices at a part of the perpendicularly standing cylindrical storage vessel (1), and agitating elements (9) formed as single-armed shovels in the form of paddles and arranged on the shaft in a displaced manner. The shaft runs along an axis of rotation and extends radially into the storage vessel. The storage vessel is formed as hermetically lockable concrete cylindrical fermenter. Agitator for energizing a liquid manure circulation in a liquid manure storage vessel of biogas plant, comprises a shaft (5) propelled by a drive device (8) and pivotably mounted with mounting devices at part of the perpendicularly standing cylindrical storage vessel (1), and agitating elements (9) formed as single-armed shovels in the form of paddles and arranged on the shaft in a displaced manner. The shaft runs along an axis of rotation and extends radially into the storage vessel. The storage vessel is formed as hermetically lockable concrete cylindrical fermenter and is gas-tightly covered by a lid-like concrete cover, which exhibits an aperture that is gas-tightly lockable with hoods composed of multi-part cover. One hood is composed of two halves, which are trapezoidal in cross section and are gas-tightly welded with one another, and another hood is composed of two parts, which are arc-shaped in the cross section and are gas-tightly connected with one another to a half cylindrical cover by a partially cylindrical lateral surface. The shaft is present below the cover during the rotation of the shaft. The agitating elements project through the aperture in the cover. The hoods exhibit an inspection opening in the form of a maintenance hatch. The agitating elements are arranged in several levels that are parallel to each other along the longitudinal extension of the shaft transverse to its axis of rotation on the shaft in such a manner that the agitating elements at a single plane are assumed different angular position with agitating elements at other planes. The agitating elements are foldably adjustable and rotatable around its own longitudinal axis. The pair of agitating elements is intended in each case in which agitating elements are faced to each other per plane at 180[deg]. A partial area of the agitating elements stands with increasing distance from the axis of rotation in the direction of the longitudinal extension of the shaft to increase the proportion of the uneven acceleration of the liquid manure. The agitating elements are formed from curved sheet metal. The shaft is arranged in the storage vessel in such a manner the upper free ends of the agitating elements are protruded in their upright position above the upper edge of the cover, or the lower free ends of the agitating elements are submerged in their upright position under the fluid level in the storage vessel even in the case of minimum filling.
