High voltage fuse unit for load switch-fuse combination has main and auxiliary melting fuses with the auxiliary fuse releasing an impact rod that leaves the fuse to release the load switch after a delay
High voltage load switch/fuse combination (1) comprises a main meltable fuse conductor (7) body (2) and a spring-loaded impact rod (3) connected to an auxiliary melting fuse (17a). Faulty current melting the auxiliary fuse releases the rod, that exits the fuse body and arrives in a proper time to release a mechanism on the load switch. There is a delay system to produce a retaining force against the exit force of the rod that is less than the exit force but serves to prolong the impact rod proper time.
