The method involves approximating functions by interpolated, two dimensional, cubic spline functions. A desired pressure and temperature range is divided into rectangular sub-ranges and a two-dimensional cubic polynomial is provided as interpolating function, where derivations of the interpolating function based on the pressure and temperature and the mixed derivations based on the pressure and temperature are the same.
