Signals validating method for internal combustion engine of motor vehicle, involves using signal of coolant-temperature sensor as reference signal, and validating signals of oil-temperature and air temperature-sensors with former signal
The method involves delivering a signal representing physical variables such as temperature by an engine oil-temperature sensor (9), inlet air temperature-sensor (8) and coolant temperature sensor (7). The signal of the coolant-temperature sensor is utilized as a reference signal, and the signals of engine oil-temperature sensor, inlet air temperature-sensor are validated with the signal of the coolant-temperature sensor. A control device (10) evaluates electrical signals of sensor units (2, 3), and the inlet air temperature-sensor and the engine oil-temperature sensor. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a sensor arrangement for an internal combustion engine (2) a control device with units for validating signals of several sensors (3) a computer program for validating signals of several sensors.
