The method involves preparing a color stamp (S) having an absorbent medium (M) with a surface section (F). The color stamp with the surface section is held on the hair portion to be colored for a long period. The period corresponds to the application time of the hair color, where the application time is necessary for coloring the hair. The color stamp is then removed from the hair portion after the expiration of the application time. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for coloring the hair portions (2) a use of the method for coloring the hair portions.
