Segmenting at least one substance in an x-ray image involves determining number of image points in classification range as assessment value and deriving segmented image with threshold comparison based on assessment value
The method involves detecting two x-ray attenuation values at different energies at each image point (2), using the values to form the image points into a two-dimensional characteristic space (5) with at least one first classification range (6) definitely associated with the at least one substance, determining the number of image points in the classification range as an assessment value and deriving a segmented image with a threshold comparison based on the assessment value. An independent claim is also included for a device for segmenting at least one substance in an x-ray image.
