Gas sensor, has electrodes comprising respective high and low activities, where effect on activity with respect to oxidation or reduction of gas component is calibrated at electrodes by free oxygen present in measuring gas mixture
The sensor (1) has a solid electrolyte (2) connecting two electrodes (3, 4) in an ion-conducting manner, where the electrodes have similar gas-sensitive base material e.g. gold. The electrode has a high activity with respect to oxidation or reduction of a gas component to be sensed and another electrode has a low activity, where the effect on the activity with respect to oxidation or reduction of the gas component is calibrated at the electrodes by free oxygen present in a measuring gas mixture.
