The device has two fluid lines (16, 18), and two heat transmitters (10, 12) that are interconnected so that deep-cold hydrogen and cooling agent consecutively and respectively flow through the heat transmitters. The hydrogen and the cooling agent flow along the respective fluid lines, where heat transfer takes place between the hydrogen and the cooling agent in the heat transmitter (12). Heat transfer takes place between the hydrogen that flows in a region (20) and the hydrogen that flows in a region (22) of the fluid line (16) in the heat transmitter (10). An independent claim is also included for a method for heating deep-cold hydrogen by a cooling agent.
