The device has a separation unit (11) for separation of ashes (2) into coarse-grained fractions and fine grained fractions. Another separation unit (15), which is successive to the former separation unit, is provided for separation of the fine grained fractions into two fractions of different particle sizes, which are greater than 150 micrometer and less than 150 micrometer, respectively. The latter separation unit is designed as a filter device or a separation device. An independent claim is also included for a method for treating of combustion bed ash accumulated during a fluidized bed combustion.
