Circulating fluidized bed reactor for burning fuel e.g. coal, has separator arranged in free space for separating solid particulate from fluidization gas and for recirculating separated solid particulate into centrifugal chambers
The reactor has an outlet opening (14) for guiding fluidization gas (12) from a free space (11) into a lower area of a combustion chamber. An inlet opening (15) connects centrifugal chambers (4-6) with the lower area for guiding solids and/or ashes from the combustion chamber into a fluidized bed-cooler (3). Another outlet opening (16) is provided for discharging the solids from the cooler. A separator (30) is arranged in the free space for separating solid particulate from the fluidization gas and for recirculation the separated solid particulate into the chambers (4-6). An independent claim is also included for a method of operating a circulating fluidized bed reactor.
