The tensioning device of a tractive drive element has a tensioning shoe (6b) fastened and positionally fixed on a piston (4), and for which an end section (9b) of the piston engages in a form-locking manner directly in a blind hole (11) in the shoe or indirectly in a blind hole of a reinforcement allocated in one piece to the tensioning shoe and forming a support component. The piston is fitted in the blind hole by a press fit and thereby rotationally fixed.
