Force sensor e.g. for acceleration sensors in automotive industry, has source of light and photo-sensitive detector transmission characteristic which changes as function of pressure influencing sensor element
The sensor has a source of light and a photo-sensitive detector transmission characteristic which changes as a function of the pressure influencing the sensor element (4). The emitted source of light, the intensity and reflection from the strength-stressed sensor element are based on the transmitted light on the detector. A second force element (5) is made from a material with comparable transmission characteristics but with opposite pressure. The elements are so arranged that the light to the detector (3) of one source of light (2) is reflected and transmitted by the other sensor element.
