The present invention relates to a method for increasing the anaerobic digestion efficiency and methane production of excess sludge by sludge crushing and protein removal. The production of is significantly increased and its quality is also improved. However, since the decomposed sludge contains a high concentration of soluble protein, the ammonia, which is a metabolite, inhibits methane production, thereby significantly increasing methane production by removing the protein by salting and isoelectric point precipitation. Therefore, the anaerobic digestion of excess sludge according to the present invention significantly improves the yield and quality of the biogas by crushing the sludge and removing the protein.
