A method for expressing mobile robot personality based on a navigation logs and a mobile robot apparatus for the same are provided to express and vary the mobile robot personality by using data generated during navigation of a robot. A mobile robot apparatus(100) comprises a personality definition table(141), a navigation log recording unit(120), a navigation log monitor unit(130), and a personality expression processing unit(140). The personality definition table matches navigation log-based expression condition and at least one personality expression method. The navigation log recording unit records navigation logs including visit time and visit place information onto a navigation log table(121). The navigation log monitor unit sums the frequency of visit for a specific place during a predetermined period with reference to the navigation log table, and creates a statistical navigation log table(131) containing information on a statistical period, visit place, and a frequency of visit. The personality expression processing unit expresses the personality of a robot in accordance with the expression method corresponding to the expression condition, if there exists information which satisfies the expression condition, by using information of the statistical navigation log table and the personality definition table.
