A point correlation model constructing/retrieving method using an edge-based point correlation algorithm for length measurement is provided to reduce an order of a time complexity by selecting key points from a template image. A template model is configured with binarized edge points to reduce the brightness variation of an image. A noise edge is removed by tracking a boundary in the image edge, which is extracted from the template, and the edge boundary is sequentially reconfigured. A test image is down-sampled to reduce the size of the test image. An upper portion of an image pyramid is configured by using an original image. An initial retrieving process is performed on the upper-most layer of the image pyramid. A following matching process is performed on a bigger image at a lower level, which is close to a matching point of the upper layer. The matching processes are repeated, until the original image is obtained.
