A system and a method for indexing a time division mobile object of a 2D(Dimensional) structure are provided to flexibly meet queries related to time by storing location movement information of a spatial area in the mobile network according to the time, as a time division technique for object location information having the 2D structure is applied to an R-tree. A location tracker tracks each location of multiple mobile objects(10). A 2D database system(40) is connected to the location tracker, and includes a 2D/1D R-tree storing information of the mobile object and responding to the query for the mobile object. The database system includes a receiver(401) receiving the mobile object information from the mobile objects and a searcher(402) searching the tree fit for the received mobile object information. The database system stores the mobile object information to the proper tree managing a time and spatial area by dividing the time.
