An optical power learning system and an optical power learning method are provided to set an optical power control reference value which is not influenced by various disturbance. An LD(Laser Diode)(11) emits a laser beam. An optical power meter(20) measures the optical power of the laser beam. An FPD(Front Photo Diode)(15) receives a part of the laser beam, and converts the received laser beam into a light quantity current signal. An ASP(Analog Signal Processor)(30) amplifies a light quantity voltage signal converted from the light quantity current signal with respect to a reference voltage signal, and obtains an output voltage signal. A microcomputer(40) operates a difference value between each output voltage signal obtained by repeating the process while changing the optical power of the laser beam and the reference voltage signal, and deduces the correlation of the optical power for the difference value.
