A method includes identifying one or more features of an execution environment (200) to be used by an application during execution and determining if use of the one or more features is restricted. The method also includes, if use of the one or more features is not restricted, compiling and executing the application in the execution environment (200). The method further includes, if use of any of the one or more features is restricted, blocking execution of the application in the execution environment (200). Determining if the use of the one or more features is restricted may include using a configuration list (226) or a profile (228) identified using a custom attribute. The configuration list (226) or the profile (228) identifies features that are available for use in the execution environment (200) and/or features that cannot be used in the execution environment (200).
