In prior art, the power flow in individual conductor bundles of high-voltage overhead power lines can be switched using specific switches, whereby the impedance is modified in a time-dependent manner (LIM). According to the invention, at least one of the conductor bundles is dynamically opened in combination with additional FACTS compensation measures such that the control range for influencing the power flow regarding the extent of the effect and the detectable time domain is substantially extended beyond the control range obtained using previously known measures. The associated inventive assembly comprises at least one vacuum switch and/or an electronic switch, preferably a contactor, to which an electronic circuit is assigned for control purposes, as well as a FACTS measure that is adapted to the respective electrical power system requirements.
