The invention relates to a cold or heat accumulator (10) comprising a porous carrier assembly (12) for taking up a storage medium, and heat exchangers (14, 16) which are embedded in the porous carrier assembly (12) and each of which is provided with at least one tube (18). At least one first heat exchanger (14) can be penetrated by a first heat transfer medium to charge the accumulator (10) with cold or heat while at least one second heat exchanger (16) can be penetrated by a second heat transfer medium to discharge the accumulator (10). The porous carrier assembly (12) is arranged in a housing (20) along with the heat exchangers (14, 16), said housing (20) being foamed with a synthetic foam. A perforated plate (22) that is equipped with outward-protruding fastening means (24, 26) is provided inside the housing (20). The invention also relates to a method for fastening a cold or heat accumulator (10) in a motor vehicle.
