The present invention relates to a novel ecological environment-protecting lead-free free-cutting brass alloy which is low in antimony and bismuth and its preparation. The brass alloy comprises: Cu 55~65wt%, Bi 0.3~1.5wt%, Sb 0.05~1.0wt%, B 0.0002~0.05wt%, other elements 0.2~1.2wt%, balance Zn and inevitable impurities; the inevitable impurities include less than 0.1wt% of Pb; the amount of Cu, Zn, Bi, Sb and B in total is greater than 97wt%, and Zn therein greater than 35.5wt%; the other elements are at least two selected from the group of Ti, Ni, Fe, Sn, P and rare earth metals. The preparation of the alloy includes: melting low antimony and low bismuth brass alloy through alloying treatment and covering and protecting method to solid solute B and Sb rapidly to form intermetallic compound, and to make Bi distributed in grain and at grain boundary uniformly; continuously casting into brass ingot at 10400C ; extruding at 680~7600C and high extrusion ratio; conducting the intermediate heat treatment at 500~7000C corresponding to the conditions of cold working; and annealing at the temperature below 4000C to eliminate stress. The alloy of present invention has excellent cutting performance, dezincification resistance, good stress-crack resistance and mechanical performance, and is especially suitable for cutting shaped part, forged part, casting, etc. In addition, the alloy of present invention is low in manufacture cost, and meets the requirements of international standards and specification for ecological environment-protection, health and sanitation absolutely.
