The distance control switching off of undesired warning signals is performed through a duplex wireless connection between the light guarding equipment of the crossing and a permanent point, preferably a supervision server and/or a mobile point, or a mobile radio terminal, through a command to cancel the lack of traffic condition at the crossing or a command for emergency abandoning of the operation. The supervision module activates the reliable measuring of the critical duration of the warning signal and, on expiration of such critical duration, the warning signal gets switched off. The distance control system realizing the method consists of: an interface for all kind of light guarding equipment of railway crossings and a reliable timer; a supervision module comprising an input module, an output module, and a radio module of the light guarding equipment of railway crossings, or the diagnostics module of the supervision module; a radio network and/or mobile telephone operator; and a supervision server comprising a computer and DSPZS radio module of the supervision server and/or mobile radio terminal.
