Abstract:The invention relates to a system for online computation and control of bulksolids feed rate to pulverizers adapted in coal-fired boilers, comprising a feedingdevice having a motor (10) driving an eddy current clutch (11) which drives aconveyor belt of the pulverizers, the feeding device comprising a signalconditioning module (3), and additionally having an integral cabinet (5), a remotepower cabinet (1) having a man-machine interface (2), and a card rack (1), theinterconnections between the remote power cabinet (4) and the integral cabinet(5) being established via a screened cable (6), a plant-control desk (7) storingand displaying data relating to coal integration and feed rate for operator'scontrol; and a calibration probe (9) operable to perform calibration by using test-weights attached to the feeding device. The card rack (1) comprises atleast onemicroprocessor/microcontroller module, a power-supply and motor speedcontrol, and a plurality of interface electronic modules, and in that themicroprocessor/ microcontroller module determines the actual feed rate basedon a speed factor and a weight factor estimated during the calibration of thefeeding device, the actual feed rate being compared with a fuel-demand feedrate signaled by the signal conditioning module (3) to determine a motor-speedset-point by means of the power supply and motor speed control module whichregulates the eddy current clutch (11) thereby regulating the speed of theconveyor belt of the pulverizers.[IN227161A1]
