Method for searching an element from a document or library, search method of an element in the document or library based on a format of language "markup" extensu00ecvel (XML), equipment for an element from a document or library based on XML format.And the recording medium legu00ecvel by computer are provided a method and apparatus for easily and quickly a specific element (or a node) in a document or a library that conforms to an XML format by using information of the path generation based on a Si Ntaxe predetermined, and a recording medium having a program to implement the method.The method includes: analyzing parameters of the information of the path generation based on a predetermined syntax if the information of the path of the generation of an element is permitted; and searching a document or library as the element according to the result of the analysis of the parameters.
