PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition having improved pigment dispersibility and increasing uniformity of a coating membrane and useful for a color filter of a liquid crystal display device by mixing a pigment with a resin and aging the obtained mixture under heating. SOLUTION: The objective composition is obtained by mixing (A) carbon black and an organic pigment (e.g. an azo-based, phthalocyanine-based or indigo- based pigment) with (B) a resin [e.g. the one having 20-300 acid value and 1,500-200,000 weight average molecular weight, and comprising (B1 ) a repeating unit of formula I (R1 is H or methyl; R2 is H, OH, a 1-12C alkyl or a 1-12C alkoxy) and (B2 ) a repeating unit of formula II (R3 is a 1-12C alkyl; R4 is H, R3 or a group having a photoreactive unsaturated bond) regulated so that the molar ratio of B1 /B2 may be (1/1) to (5/1)], and thereafter aging the obtained mixture under heating (e.g. at a temperature of 25-80 deg.C).
