PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a throwaway surface-coated cemented carbide cutting tip exhibiting excellent chipping resistance in high speed cutting work.;SOLUTION: The throwaway surface-coated cemented carbide cutting tip has a substrate formed of cemented carbide comprising metallurgically a binding phase and a hard dispersion phase. The surface of the substrate is physically deposited with a hard coated layer consisting of nitride compound of Ti and Al with an average layer thickness of 0.5-6μm. The cemented carbide contains, by mass%, 4-10% Co, 0.1-2% Cr and/or V, as a binding phase forming component, tungsten carbide containing solid solution oxygen and nitrogen constituting the hard dispersion phase as the remainder, and inevitable impurities. The tungsten carbide phase contains 0.2-0.6% oxygen and 0.1-0.25% nitrogen.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
