PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a residual chlorine meter having a washing means of any sort such as an electric washing means or the like and constituted so as to judge the washing state of electrodes after washing to confirm whether the measured value after washing is accurate. SOLUTION: In a residual chlorine meter equipped with a measuring means having a pair of electrodes and a washing means performing the washing treatment 13 of the electrodes, a self-judging means performing the self-judgment 14 of the operation state of the residual chlorine meter on the basis of the gradient of the measuring sensitivity of the electrodes after the washing treatment 13 is provided.
