PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sugar composition suitable for food and drink, especially an undiluted solution of an alcoholic drink product, capable of imparting flavor, taste or the like to a final product, and excellent in taste.;SOLUTION: This sugar composition having taste-improving activities of food and drink comprises 30-50 wt.% polysaccharides having glucose molecules not less than maltohexaose (G6) based on the solid, and provides a 75 wt.% aqueous solution having 8,000-12,000 cP viscosity at 20°C. Preferably the content of glucose is ≥3 wt.%, and the content of maltose (G2) to maltopentaose (G5) is 50-70 wt.% based on the solid. The content of eicosasaccharide or more is ≤10 wt.% The sugar composition is preferably food and drink, more preferably an alcoholic drink.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
