PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an isolated point discrimination apparatus capable of properly discriminating an isolated point even from an image adopting diversified halftone methods. PSOLUTION: The isolated point processing section (isolated point discrimination apparatus) 10 includes: a feature value calculation section 11 for calculating the average of luminance values of pixels in a main scanning line including a target pixel as a line feature value; a threshold value calculation section 12 for calculating a threshold value on the basis of the line feature value calculated by the feature value calculation section 11; and a discrimination section 13 for discriminating whether or not the target pixel is the isolated point on the basis of the threshold value calculated by the calculation section 12. Wrong discrimination of a dot used by the halftone method to be the isolated point is prevented by dynamically setting the threshold value used for discriminating the isolated point on the basis of the line feature value in this way.
